The
Top Cat: Alan J. Brunelli, DDS
Alan Brunelli was in junior high school in Tyler, Texas, when he
knew he wanted to follow in the professional footsteps of his own
family dentist—Dr. Taylor J. Holland III, DDS. |
|
|

|
“He was
a kind and giving man, and his dental treatments never hurt,”
Dr. Brunelli recalls. Inspired by Dr. Holland’s gentle manner,
young Alan Brunelli began working toward his goal. He graduated
from Thomas K. Gorman High School, he attended Tyler Junior College
for a year, then transferred to the University of North Texas
to finish out his degree. After working for three years, he applied
and was accepted to Baylor College of Dentistry—thanks in part
to a glowing letter of recommendation written by his longtime
dentist and mentor.
In 1994, Dr. Brunelli opened his own private practice
in Richardson, now known as Brunelli
Fluellen Family Dentistry. Over the years, he became very
interested in starting a practice in the Celina community as
well. |
|
“I have
always wanted to build a practice in a growing community like Celina.
I used to drive my 1966 Mustang up 289/Preston through Celina to
Sherman on the weekends, and I loved that the area was so wide open,”
Dr. Brunelli says. “I had several friends from church who moved
there and loved it. Then I started going to all the home football
games a year before I decided to open a practice there.” Bobcat
Dental opened its doors in the summer of 2009.
Dr. Brunelli knew Bobcat Dental was really becoming
a part of the community when he began to get referrals from existing
patients, along with emails, cards and comments thanking him or
the staff for going
the extra mile.
“Whether it’s getting someone out of dental pain,
educating our patients about their oral health or even reconstructing
a patient’s smile, that’s what I love about my work—helping people
in need and doing quality dentistry that changes the way patients
feel about themselves.”

Jodi
Bates, RDH
(Registered Dental Hygienist)
Jodi is one of the many team members who have been with Bobcat
Dental since we opened our doors in July of 2009. She has been
a dental hygienist since 2005, helping people improve their quality
of life by improving their oral health. She especially enjoys
working with children, and she’s been honing her experience in
pediatrics since 2008. So how often does she visit the dentist?
If you said every six months, you’re absolutely right!

Debbee
Nyman, Treatment Coordinator
Since 1968, Debbee’s career as a dental assistant and office manager
has given her the opportunity to meet new and interesting people
on the job—and to help them with their dental needs, from regular
dental exams to cosmetic procedures. She’s been with Bobcat Dental
since July of 2009, providing the essential structure that’s kept
our office running smooth from the very beginning. No matter how
busy she gets, though, she always makes it in for her cleaning
twice a year!

Rose
Holguin, RDA
(Registered Dental Assistant)
Helping other people and getting to know our patients on a personal
level is what Rose loves most about her job. And as a bilingual
professional, she’s able to provide our Spanish-speaking patients
with the same exceptional level of service and support that every
Bobcat Dental patient deserves. Rose has been a dental assistant
since 2002, and she’s been with Bobcat Dental since our grand
opening in July of 2009. And yes, she has her own teeth cleaned
every six months, too!

Treacy
McKinnis, RDA
(Registered Dental Assistant)
If you’ve ever spoken with a personable dental assistant with
a lilting Irish brogue here at Bobcat Dental, you’ve had the
pleasure of meeting Treacy. She’s been helping patients care
for their teeth for more than 25 years, and she’s been with Bobcat
Dental since the beginning. Working with people is Treacy’s favorite
part of the job. And, like her colleagues here in Celina, she
wouldn’t dream of skipping her own checkups and cleanings every
six months.
